Your home, the size of your family, your schedule, and your lifestyle all play a part in determining your electricity needs. SCE plans are designed so you can find the right fit to your household’s lifestyle. Two customers that live on the same street may go day to day living completely opposite schedules which is why SCE wants to provide options on what may work best. In order to see what works best, check out more information on SCE’s Rate Plan Comparison tool or check out the content below to learn more about the rates that are available to you!
Time-Of-Use (TOU) Rate Plans
Our TOU plans feature different rates based on the time of day. Electricity rates are lower on nights and weekends, but go up during peak hours when energy resources are in demand. TOU plans can help you manage your energy costs. By taking advantage of lower rates during off-peak and super off-peak periods, you can avoid higher weekday rates when energy resources are in demand.
TOU-D-4-9PM
Better for customers who stay up late. May benefit smaller households in coastal areas with moderately sized homes or condos.
Highest rates: Summer weekdays 4-9pm
Eligible for bill protection
TOU-D-5-8PM
Better for customers who end the night early. May benefit those who are home during the day and tend to live in smaller rented dwellings
Highest rates: Summer weekdays 5-8 pm
Eligible for bill protection
TOU-D Prime
With TOU-D-PRIME, qualifying EV drivers will find the lowest rates in the morning, early afternoon, and overnight. You’ll also save with lower electricity rates between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. from October through May. You qualify for TOU-D-PRIME if you: Drive an EV, own an energy storage system, or own an electric heat pump system for water or space heating
Tiered Rate Plan
This is a more traditional billing plan. Customers pay a single rate for a “baseline” amount of energy each month. Once that allotment is used, the rate climbs to a more expensive tier. A High Usage Charge may also apply
