California Natural Resources Agency: Urban Greening Program
Who: a city, county, special district, nonprofit organization, or an agency or entity formed pursuant to the Joint Exercise of Powers Act, California Native American tribal governments are eligible to apply if they have a nonprofit corporation as defined.
What: This competitive grant program intends to solicit project proposals for urban greening and urban forestry projects that reduce greenhouse gas emissions and provide multiple additional benefits. This program will give priority consideration to projects located within and benefitting disadvantaged communities.
When: Application due on March 28th, 2022
How Much: Approximately $47.5 million in specified General Fund dollars are available. (There are no maximum or minimum grant amounts)

State Water Resources Control Board: County-Wide and Regional Funding Program
Who: Counties, Non-governmental organization on behalf of one or more counties, and Other public agencies on behalf of one or more counties
What: The State Water Resources Control Board (State Water Board) has opened a County-wide and Regional Funding Solicitation for counties or eligible partner entities to receive funding to implement county-wide or regional programs that address drought-related and/or contamination issues for state small water systems and domestic wells serving disadvantaged communities and low-income households.

Building Forward: Library Infrastructure Grant Program
Who: Applications may be submitted by cities, counties, or library districts on behalf of local library jurisdictions or facilities
What: Pursuant to SB 129, funding will be prioritized for the following:
Projects addressing library facility life safety and other critical maintenance needs
Projects for library facilities serving high poverty areas of the state.
For purposes of this grant, life safety projects are defined as those that address significant health and safety risks to patrons or staff using a library facility. This includes any physical aspect of the facility, its building systems, or equipment essential to emergency response situations specific to the library facility. Critical maintenance and critical infrastructure projects are those needed to keep existing facilities, building-related structural elements, and related building systems suitable for public use, and compliant with all prevailing regulations, and standards governing their use.
