Cal Trans Clean California Local Grant Program
Who: Local or regional public agencies, transit agencies, or tribal governments. Nonprofit organizations may be sub-applicants
What: The Clean California Local Grant Program, administered by the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans), will provide approximately $296 million as part of a two year program to beautify and improve streets and roads, tribal lands, parks, pathways, and transit centers to restore pride in public spaces
When: February 1st, 2022
How Much: Total amount- $296 million (maximum grant is $5 Million)
2. Rural Innovation Stronger Economy Grant Program
Who: Eligible applicants are rural jobs accelerator partnerships with expertise in delivering economic and job training programs, consisting of the following: Non-profit entities, State entities, Tribal entities, Institutions of higher education, Public bodies
What: The Rural Innovation Stronger Economy (RISE) Grant Program offers grant assistance to create and augment high-wage jobs, accelerate the formation of new businesses, support industry clusters and maximize the use of local productive assets in eligible low-income rural areas.
When: April 19th, 2022
How Much: Estimated total program funding $10,000,000 (minimum of $500,000 and a maximum grant amount of $2,000,000)

3. Rural Business Development Grants in California
Who: Rural public entities
What: This program is designed to provide technical assistance and training for small rural businesses. Small means that the business has fewer than 50 new workers and less than $1 million in gross revenue.
When: February 28th, 2022
How Much: There is no maximum grant amount; however, smaller requests are given higher priority. There is no cost sharing requirement. Opportunity grants are limited to up to 10 percent of the total Rural Business Development Grant annual funding. Generally, grants range from $10,000 up to $500,000.
