SCE: 211 Helps Customers with Access and Functional Needs

SCE is partnering with the California network of 211s to provide customers, focusing on those who have Access and Functional Needs (AFN), with a single source of information and connection to available resources in their communities. SCE provides year-round care coordination in partnership with 211. Care coordination helps customers with Access and Functional Needs (AFN) develop a resiliency plan and enroll in eligible assistance programs.

Other Programs offered by SCE:
The Critical Care Backup Battery (CCBB) program offers eligible customers free portable, rechargeable, clean-energy backup batteries to power their medical device(s)in the event of power outages. If the power outage is an emergency requiring evacuation, this temporary power source may help while relocating to safety. In addition to batteries, the program provides solar panel kits for additional charging capability, and a three-year manufacturer's warranty. The battery and solar panels are delivered to customers and are setup at no cost. https://sce.com/ccbb

To be eligible customers must meet these three requirements:

  • Enrolled in SCE’s Medical Baseline Program, which requires the use of electrically powered medical equipment or another qualifying medical device

  • Reside in ahigh fire-risk area (CPUC High Fire-Risk Mapwebsite:ia.cpuc.ca.gov/firemap/)

Medical Baseline Program: If you depend on electrically-powered medical equipment, plan to have a backup power source in case of a power outage. You may be eligible for SCE’s Medical Baseline program. Learn about the program and how to apply at sce.com/medicalbaseline
