How is it July already? After a long holiday weekend, we are bringing you three new opportunities to visit to help enhance your community. From improving public parks to preparing for wildfire season, we have got you covered. Take a look below!

1.  Regional Park Program (Prop 68)

Who: Nonprofit, Public Agency

What: The Regional Park Program will create, expand, or improve regional parks and regional park facilities.  This program is funded by Proposition 68 (2018 Bond Act) which is found in Public Resources Code §80065(a).

When: Application deadline November 5th, 2021

How Much: Total Program Amount- $23,125,000

2.      CAL FIRE Urban and Community Forestry Grant Program

Who:  Nonprofit, Public Agency within the state of California

What: CAL FIRE's Urban & Community Forestry Program (UCF) works to expand and improve the management of trees and related vegetation in communities throughout California. The program advances the development of sustainable urban and community forests to improve the quality of life in urban environments which are where Californians live, work, and play.

When: Application Deadline July 14th, 2021

How Much: $20 million total ($150,000-$1.5 million per award)

3.      Rural Placemaking Innovation Challenge

Who: Federally recognized tribes, public bodies, 501c3 nonprofits, institutions of higher education, small private entities

What: USDA is making available up to $3 million in cooperative agreements under the Rural Placemaking Innovation Challenge (RPIC) for eligible entities to help them provide planning support, technical assistance and training to foster placemaking activities in rural communities.

Qualified entities can use the funds to help rural communities create plans to enhance capacity for broadband access; preserve cultural and historic structures; and support the development of transportation, housing, and recreational spaces.

When: Application Deadline July 26th, 2021

How Much: Total Program Amount: $3 million (maximum grant award is $250,000)
